Chp.1

The two main characters are introduced, Billy and Heidi Halleck. Billy is an overweight lawyer. It starts out as a memory that Billy had of an old Gypsy man who whispered the word thinner to Billy while caressing Billy's cheek. The morning after court Billy had lost 3 pounds, from 249-246. Billy has a 14 year old daughter named Linda. Billy is a big eater and he just can't seem to gain back the weight he has lost. He cant get that Gypsy with the weird nose off his mind. We find out that Billy has gone to court because he hit the Gypsy's wife with his car when she stepped into the road from between two cars.
