This chapter is just one big dream Billy has about the Gypsy. The Gypsy had turned into a vulture and was soaring over Fairview croaking "Thinner." Everyone was witnessing Gypsy curses and Dr. Houston had actually become a skeleton. Billy tried to run but it seemed as if he was running in thick, sticky mud. Houston was also whispering "Thinner" and eventually reached out with his finger bones and touched his arm.
